Excellent Progress Report!
January 02, 2012, 11:12:59 PM
My son is in 3rd grade.  He was diagnosed with ADHD last year after struggling for the first 3 years in school.  We finally decided to see a Doctor after my son said to me "Mommy, why can't I pay attention like the other kids?  They make fun of me because I can't sit still."  After being diagnosed and putting him on a treatment plan, including a 504 plan and behavioral therapy, I am pleased to say that we just got the progress report for his second semester and he continues to do well this year.  6 A's and 5 B's. This is also the first year in school he talks about having friends and doesn't complain about hating school.   I'm thrilled and just wanted to share.

Thank you both!!  I am super proud of him!  Last year was such a struggle for him, and all I kept hearing from the school was "Next year will be a different ball game.  Next year they will expect more of him.  Next year he will have a hard time keeping up."  I DREADED the 3rd grade.  I think I had a knot in my stomach the entire summer.

What a difference an action plan and a good teacher makes on a child who struggles! I feel very fortunate. :)
